My Love Affair

Nothing has the power to bring me back to the days of my youth like the jingle of the ice cream truck roaring down the street. For New Yorkers his name is Mister Softee. I call him friend.

During the spring and summer months, Mister Softee can be seen on nearly ever street corner, tempting you with his delicious treats. Now, for someone who maintains a healthy diet and works out regularly my, dare-I-say love, for ice cream could be a problem. The answer to this conundrum...I plan my running route specifically around Mister Softee's permanent parking spot on the weekend. Genius.

Caution: Not for sensitive eyes

I saw these cruising down the street. Yes, someone was actually wearing them and, I have to tell you, I was quite concerned. More so because I was with two friends who actually liked them. Really? Shoes that fit like a glove? What if you have an extra long toe? What then?

Good thoughts

I wouldn't say I'm an overly pessimistic person, but I am trying to incorporate positive thinking into my daily life. I read The Secret. Twice. And currently carry around Jack Canfield's Key to Living the Law of Attraction in hopes that the goodness rubs off on me. My new thing: daily affirmations.

Yesterday's was: I allow my emotions to be as they are without judging them or myself.

Today's: I am safe and always feel protected.

The sad thing is, these are the most exciting emails I've received all week.

Tick Tock

Ah, the joys of nature—early sunrises, birds chirping, oh yeah, and this little guy. Meet Mr. Tick. My weekend of fun in the country has decided to head to the big city—courtesy of my boyfriend's back. Yesterday he found a little tick feeding on him. Hmm...delicious.

Woot!

I won Bon Jovi tickets! Technically they're playing a free concert, but you need a ticket to get in. It feels good to be a winner.

How I Spent My 4th of July

As many of you were enjoying a poolside BBQ and delighting in fireworks over the 4th of July weekend, I spent my time whiling away at the town dump. Yep. A dump.
I spent the weekend in upstate New York where trash collectors don't exist. People actually have to bring their trash to the local dump, or what was it called...the compactor? To be honest, I enjoyed the visit.

Saturday

Just a query…is anyone else excited to see Bon Jovi play a free concert in Central Park? Am I really the only one?

Here goes...

I've always been that person who wondered, why do people blog? After spending many hours weighing the pros and cons I've finally reached an answer: why not. So what if I'm jumping on the bandwagon a few years late. I like to move at my own pace. So here is my blog. Fabulous now isn't it?
